I’ve been using pine cones often of late. I think they’re really pretty in any condition: natural, painted, glittered, or even deconstructed into petal form! Since I have so many of them at my disposal , I decided to make a pine cone tree for the holidays!
A scratched up red charger plate that needed a new purpose was perfect for my base. I started hot gluing the natural, untreated cones to the plate and built layer upon layer. I tried to achieve the shape of a Christmas tree by choosing pine cones of similar size for each layer.
1st layer of pine cone tree… using hot glue to assemble.
Once I had the tree finished, I used miniature silver and gold ornaments, some gold garland and topped it off with a gold star. I think it makes a pretty tabletop decoration for our home! I will use it as a centerpiece in a rustic table scape in the kitchen at some point this holiday season.
I pray your holiday season is filled with fun projects, precious time with friends and loved ones, and a fresh revelation of the Reason for the Season! Merry Christmas!
