Eggshells vs. Cavities – Fantastic Result !

Who loves teeth cavities? I guess nobody. Who already tried with dentists and treatment and nothing seemed to work? Most of us.
Let’s try something else! Instead of trying expensive solutions which often don’t give you’re the desired results you may look for something that you always had but never took in consideration – eggshells.

Eggshells are powerhouses of calcium in the truest sense. And they can help treat cavities efficiently.
Egg Shell Constituents
Eggshells contain a number of minerals that aid in the treatment of cavities. They mostly consist of calcium, the primary mineral required for strong and healthy teeth. Other minerals found in eggshells are:

  • Magnesium
  • Silicon
  • Phosphorous
  • Potassium
  • Sodium
  • Iron
  • Sulphur
  • Aluminium

Eggshells are the best in treating cavities because of the right constituents. The composition of eggshells is similar to that of our teeth. They contain huge quantities of calcium which is required to re-mineralize teeth and make them strong. Egg shells are also composed of the essential amino acids like lysine, methionine and cysteine.

The procedure is quite simple.

  • Take eggshells and boil them in water for about five minutes. This is to kill any existing bacteria on the shells.
  • Dry the shells and grind them in a grinder until they are reduced to a powdered form.
  • Take ½ teaspoon of the powder every day. You can add the powder to your favourite smoothie or to any other dish of your choice.

One more thing to be kept in mind is that vitamin D greatly helps in calcium absorption. So ensure you are getting enough of it.

Eggshells are Similar to Teeth!

Teeth and Eggshells have two majors similarities that makes Eggshells so good in treating cavities :
–Fluoride Effect
When the tooth enamel gets exposed to fluoride, some of the hydroxyl groups (OH-) are replaced with fluoride ions. The compound that forms as a result of this replacement is less soluble and also more resistant to acid erosion. In the same way, when chicken eggshells are soaked in a fluoride solution, there is a negligible possibility of the shells getting softened in the presence of an acid.
–Acid Effect
Both chicken eggshells and teeth tend to soften and will lose minerals in the presence of an acid. Loss of calcium will make the eggshells weak. Similarly calcium ions are released when acid is added to tooth enamel. This results in the de-mineralization of tooth enamel and can cause etching on the surface of the teeth.

Other Benefits offered by Eggshells

Besides  treating cavities and strengthening weak teeth, eggshells also have benefits for small children. Children’s bodies more intensely take part in the development of bone tissue. This requires a continuous supply of calcium which only eggshells can provide.

Chicken eggshells helps preventing anaemia and rickets in babies and  also promote blood-activation in bone tissue.

The solution was always there , we just had to look for it in the comfort of our own houses.
