Wondering what to do with all those beautiful shells, pieces of sea glass, and other interesting finds you and the kids have collected this summer? How about making some pretty (and easy!) DIY wall art?(It makes a fun addition to a beach themed unit or a creative follow-up activity to a beach vacation.)
- shells, rocks, sea glass, bits of pottery, and any other interesting beach finds
- a burlap panel
- sturdy canvas, or piece of cardboard
- Mod Podge or other thick glue
- 2 fine paint brushes
This is a very uncomplicated, open-ended craft. Have your child use his paintbrush to apply glue to whichever pieces of sea glass/shells/etc. he chooses. He can then stick each to his panel, let dry, and add paint if desired. A coat of Mod Podge over everything (once dried) will seal his collage.
I used a glue gun to affix the pieces to the panels.
